Bedugul is a popular highland area in north-central Bali. This cool, forested upland neighbourhood is home to one of the island’s three mountain lakes, Beratan, where the iconic Ulun Danu Beratan temple stands on its western bank. Bedugul is on the central island route that leads you to the town of Singaraja and the popular beach resort of Lovina. It’s often included on tours to North Bali. Nonetheless, Bedugul is a popular holidaying and weekend destination on its own, offering cooler retreats with beautiful nature views. The whole area makes a nice break from the sandy coasts. There are plenty of hotels in Bedugul, too.
